Pens and Pianos

tonight's a good night for self-pity songs so put on an old record, let's sing along let's dream away i can't stay here much longer let's dream ourselves out of this cold rainy night

Tonight's turned out to be one of those ones when I hate myself.

Except tonight, I hate you too, because it was you who made me ashamed, and it's you who makes me cringe a little to myself whenever I think about it, and it's you that I can't talk to anymore because of too many memories. Ugly memories - not because of you, but because I went along with it for so long.

And you, a different you, a better you - I think I might love you. If you love me too maybe I can get rid of the hate. I hold little hope.
